Berlin, you beautiful stranger. The elation after the fall of the wall, the regaining of its title as one of the worlds major cities after decades of division. The views that only the golden Victoria has been able to look down on from her look out on the victory column have now been caught and documented here for us to cast our eyes on. Long gone are the scars, the division, the dictatorship, wall and murderous border regime that once dominated the city – it becomes clear from the skies, that this city has converged and reinvented itself on many levels. The past is grey, skid row streets; from urban wasteland a new city has grown. The view from the sky makes it clear why, in the last two decades, the German capital has become one of the most attractive cities in Europe: historical glory resurrected alongside modern architecture, the most spectacular structures, atmospheric areas and the charm of its lakes and parks. So far and yet so near – from a unique perspective a new Berlin can be experienced, in flight over some of the worlds most famous and historical sites, the government district or the lively quarters with their thriving club scenes, the creative atmosphere and the trendy shops.
